Lots has happened!

I know it has been forever since I posted anything here.

The update is that now I am Mrs. Megin Garrett!  Woohoo!!! We had a fantastic wedding and are very, very happy.

In my mehndi world, I completed my first grad night! Me and 100 or so graduating seniors on a boat. I did mehndi for 3 hours straight! I had no idea how exhausting it would be, but I had a great time and I learned a lot.

Since then I have been commissioned for three more paintings, begun a wall sized mural and I will be working at a U-District ice cream social tomorrow.

It has been a while, but I am back!

Hi everyone!

I know it has been a long time since I have posted here. I had to go back to my real job and now Dan and I barely have time to breathe! I have still been doing mendhi and still been painting, but taking time to update this blog has been difficult.  Also, I am trying to get some better pictures of my work. You can be sure that, as soon as I can, this blog will be inundated with pictures!

Now for the big news...Tonight, between 6 and 9, I will be showing my paintings at the art walk in White Center!!!!!   WooooHoooo!!!!!!  I will be at the 3.14 Bakery, which is an awesome little bakery with the best pies around (plus lots of other delicious goodies!). This will be my first "showing" so if you can, come down and take a look. You won't regret it because, if all else fails, there will be cookies!

I will also be doing mendhi for those who are interested.

I will be doing mendhi at Cafe Felice, at The Landing, in Renton, tomorrow (12/15) from 5-7. Please come over, have some great coffee in a wonderful little cafe and let me paint on you! Prices are based on intricacy of design and time. But I will keep them low for new comers!

Happy Friday

I hope everyone has a quick day today so you can carry on to your weekend and relax. I am in my studio, my fiance and his friend are switching out a garbage disposal, so all is right in my little world. And, really, that refers mostly to the fact that I do not have to deal with the garbage disposal part.

I sent some paintings and some gift certificates to a silent auction for the United Way and they all sold, which was pretty exciting for me. So, if you want to see the ones that sold, check out the painting page. I just wrote "sold" next to them.

I also added a few more pictures to that page. You may notice these are not professional shots. They seem to be the best I can do with my droid so far. So, if any of you out there are learning photography and want to use some of my work in your portfolio, I would be really into that.

Hello and thank you for visiting my site! I can't tell you how exciting it is to check the stats and find out that people have visited.

The weekend was uneventful. I got a few paintings done and I cleaned out my studio. For a couple of weeks it was too cold to work in  here. It is great to be back.

The biggest event that has happened with my work is that I have donated three paintings, four gift certificates and 2 candle holders to  charity auction. I am nervous to see how they do.

You might have just noticed that I do offer gift certificates!  Christmas is coming up and if you haven't picked out something for your friend, relative, etc, a gift certificate for mendhi might be the perfect thing. I can offer them in any denominations, any amount of time or, most likely any kind you wish. Just send me an email at contact.megin@gmail.com. I believe that if you send the email to mendhibymegin.com the email will get to me that way as well.

It's Saturday!

I hope everyone out there is having a great day so far! Sleep was an adventure for myself and my guy. I am trying to get rid of the cold in my lungs, so that wasn't pretty, and my guy punched me in my sleep. IN THE EYE!  I think it is hilarious!!  I wasn't seriously hurt, just startled. He says he was dreaming that he was so mad that he just had to punch some guy in his dream. In my dream I interpreted it as a notebook flying into my face. What a night!

I have been doing some painting and will post it on that part of the site soon. I am using canvas paper, which is really neat, but I still have to figure out how I want to frame the pictures.

I know this part has nothing to do with mendhi, paintings or me, but I think everyone should know about this website: http://epicwinftw.com http://epicwinftw.com/http://epicwinftw.com/  In a world full of bummers, this web site always amazes me or at least chears me up.
